WHY DO MY BREAKERS KEEP TRIPPING?

There are three typical reasons why your breaker would keep tripping:

Overloaded circuit, short circuit, and ground fault. If you believe your circuit is overloaded, you can redistribute the power-heavy devices to another general purpose circuit. You can also turn off some of the devices so that they are not all pulling power at the same time. Sometimes overloaded circuits are also caused by overheating appliances, such as an air conditioner.

If you have moved some of the power-heavy devices and your breakers are still tripping, we highly recommend that you give us a call so we can have a licensed professional come inspect your breakers & wiring.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN UPGRADING MY ELECTRICAL PANEL?

We first remove the old electrical panel from your home. A new panel is installed as well. All electrical circuits are transferred to the new panel. We install new circuit breakers. Homeowners often add additional circuits at this time in order to better distribute the electrical load throughout the house.

WHAT IS PLUMBING CODE?

Code is a set of regulations & rules that are set by the county, cities, or states. Plumbing & sanitation codes require work to be done in a specific way in order to keep everyone safe. Failure to perform work up to code could result in widespread disease which would be crippling to communities. Plumbers in the United States follow the Universal Plumbing Code which is updated every couple of years based on new technology or knowledge. SameDay follows all plumbing codes set forth by the Cities, Counties, and States in addition to the Universal Plumbing Code.

MY TOILET KEEPS RUNNING? WHAT DO I DO?

If a new fill valve has been installed, and you are certain that everything else in the toilet is working properly, leaks could be from too high of water pressure. If your water pressure is high enough that it is causing links, you will need to get a Pressure Reducing Valve installed. Pressure Reducing Valves help ensure that pipes, connectors, hoses, and water heaters last longer. Water Pressure Regulators help to make sure that the pressure of your water is low enough to keep undue strain off your water system.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I THINK I HAVE A LEAK?

One way to determine if you have a leak is by checking your water meter. Make sure that no water is being used inside or outside of your home. Locate your water meter & check the leak indicator to see if it is moving. If the dial is moving, you probably have a leak. If you can't find the leak indicator, take a meter reading, wait 1 to 2 hours, and take another meter reading. (Don't forget to keep all water turned off!) If the reading has changed, you have a leak.

If you have a leak, your best course of action is to call a licensed plumber. Licensed plumbers are able to quickly find & diagnose leaks to try to limit the water damage. Even small leaks can add up to a lot of wasted water and money over time.

HOW DO I GET A SNAKE DOWN THE TUB DRAIN?

To get a snake down the tube drain you will need to take off the overflow plate. A snake will not go through the drain hole at the bottom of the tub. An overflow plate is the round thing on the tub wall. When you pull the overflow plate off, you might even see hair caught on the end of the mechanism. If this is the case, you might not even need to snake it. Once you have pulled the hair out, you can reinstall the overflow plate.

If this seems too complicated to try, please call us so we can send an experience plumber to get this quickly taken care of!
